When you talk of Mahindra & Mahindra, you know you are talking about the largest SUV manufacturer of India. The automobile giant is getting ready to bring all new Xylo Mini, which is already a popular and successful sports utility vehicle in the Indian market. Mahindra & Mahindra is offering the model with a size that’s less than 4 meters, which is a clear attempt to satisfy the size specifications of lower excise duty section.
The car is expected to come with a powerful 1.5L diesel engine that will be a five seater without any compromise on the interiors. Mini Xylo is expected to have a price tag of around 4.5lacs rising up to 5.5lacs. In the market, the car will compete with some well established models such as Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Swift and Nissan Micra. In fact, it will also have to compete with Chevrolet Beat diesel and Premier Rio, which is another upcoming car in the segment.
When it comes to Mini Xylo, Mahindra & Mahindra will have first car like this in its portfolio. The car has been working mightily in the SUV section with a hit sedan Verito. Mini Xylo is expected to offer the car a decent share in the market. It is obvious that the styling of the model is much in lines with Xylo and will at least look the same from front end. The specifications of the front are expected to be revealed by the company on launch.
A word about Engine & Specifications
Mini Xylo hatchback will have a 1.5L diesel engine, which is different from the Xylo SUV that had a 2.5L engine. The engine is expected to have three cylinders along with a well tested five speed manual transmission. The car is yet to be tested by public, and hence, the combination of power and torque is not yet clear. Mini Xylo is expected to have Multi Link Coil Spring suspension system on the rear and Independent Coil Springs on the front.
A word about Performance of Mini Xylo
The Mini Xylo is being tested in Rajasthan for hot weather, and it seems that Mahindra & Mahindra is taking all care to ensure that the buyers get the perfect hatchback in the Indian market. The car will come with a potent engine and features such as power steering, which is expected to make a complete head turner on the roads. The pickup of the engine is expected to be superb with decent fuel economy.
A word about Exterior, Interior & Safety
As mentioned above, Mini Xylo model will be designed in the same lines of Xylo SUV, and at the same time, the interiors will have certain features of the parent model. There will be two rows for seating, and there will be safety features such as ABS or anti-lock braking system and airbags.
