Volvo XC90 is a luxury SUV car manufactured by Volvo Cars. Its first variant had been unveiled in Detroit Motor Show in 2002. Now the company has come up with Volvo XC90-D5. This is a new marketing strategy that the companies have come up which is to introduce numerous variants of the car so that the customer has a lot of options to choose from and they can have their own customized cars with their needs. The price of the car is around rupees forty nine lakhs to fifty two lakhs. It has been told that it is safe to drive and no nonsense SUV car. Here we can have this car in the Indian market.
Volvo XC90-D5 is a diesel variant and has an automatic transmission type. The car gives 14.7 kilometer per liter. The engine is 2500 bp D5 turbocharger. The fuel tank holds around sixty eight liters. The car is quite powerful and very elegant. It is suffering for speed and some cooling system but the performance is up to the mark. The engine is said to be noisy and thirsty of fuel and some say that its rivals are much better to look at. All Volvo cars are equipped with Roll Stability Control in which sensors get activated of the brakes and cut power and it works with traction control to minimize the risk of roll. During normal driving ninety five percent powers goes to the front wheel. All the Volvo cars and even Volvo XC90-D5 has electronically controlled all wheel drive system. The steering wheel is provided with Bluetooth facility to manage calls. Even the seats are easily adjustable and electrically equipped. The car has seven seat cabins. The space in the front two rows is plentiful. Even there are two rear seats suitable only for children. The driver’s seat is immensely comfortable and gives a good visibility. The rear most seat can easily be folded when not in use. Volvo XC90-D5 has climate control and a powerful air conditioner. It is well equipped with rear parking sensors. The car has gone through a sporty makeover and has been given a trim look. It has a CD player with aux in and a USB port. There is optional roof mounted headphone sockets which is available for the rear passengers. The car is very spacious and a lot of luggage space. But reviews are around that many do not want to own another one. The car chassis is clunky and crude to look at.
Volvo XC90-D5 has parking sensors that can avoid untoward incidents and back collisions. It has electric sensor seat belts warning. It gives a smooth ride feel on bumpy roads. There are power brakes, auto lock and unlock doors which can be used as on when required. It also has air bags. For extra clarity during driving at night it comes with fog light. As it has central locking system but it also has clutch locking system.
