7 Nov 2016 Toyota Kirloskar Motors launched second-generation Fortuner in India at a starting price of Rs 25.92 lakh with top of the line diesel variant the way up to Rs 31.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). There are total of six variants to choose from with the company offering both petrol and diesel engine with the option of manual and automatic transmission. Further, customer can choose from real-wheel drive or all-wheel drive version depending upon the requirement and driving preference. The new Fortuner will be up against the likes of new Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet trailblazer among others. Toyota has heavily revamped the design and interiors also feature a new color scheme and layout. Quality and luxury have gone up and overall desirability for the SUV has increased by several notches. Thankfully the company hasn't used the same dashboard as in the InnovaCrysta. Under the hood, there is a 2.8-liter diesel engine and a 2.7-litre petrol engine. Both the motors are very powerful and company is also offering both manual and automatic transmission. Further, company is also offering the option of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive depending upon the driving interests and preferences.
