The launch of Indigo, about a decade back was followed by many changes in Tata’s sedan and we now have the Manza – a car with simple external design but an array of features inside the refined cabin.
Manza Safire is the petrol version of this car with 1368 cc 4 cylinder SF90 petrol engine. Here’s a brief about the features in Safire LX model:
The bigger clear lens headlights and a long sleek bonnet make Manza little more attractive than the different avatars of Indigo you’ve seen earlier. The roof connects with the boot of the car quite elegantly. An antenna has also been provided. Manza Safire 90 LX has body coloured door handles. This model gets fog-lamps at the back. All other features are same as in the base variant.
Manza’s cabin has a more upmarket feel than the interiors of other Tata cars. Black and beige colour theme has been used for Safire 90 LX. Seats are sufficiently comfortable and have been upholstered in fabric. Along with storage pockets in doors, there are bottle holders on front console and a storage tray under the co-driver’s seat. The glove box too has a card holder and pen holder. As an upgrade from the base model, this one gets anti glare rear view mirror for driver’s convenience. However, the noticeable addition in list of features is the information and entertainment set up.
There is a 2 DIN music system with radio, MP3, CD playback and audio equaliser. USB and Aux-in ports have also been given. Audio controls mount the steering wheel. An infra red remote has also been provided to control the music system from other seats. There are 2 speakers on the front door, 2 on the rear and a couple of tweeters.
The information display screen at the centre of dashboard keeps you informed about fuel consumption and the kilometres that you can cover before refuelling the car. It has a digital clock as in the base variant.
The additional comfort element in Manza Safire LX model is in the form of power windows for front and rear doors. For optimisation of manual air conditioner & heater system, it has been equipped with electric HVAC controls that can be used to conveniently maintain the required temperature inside the cabin. Other features for comfort and convenience are same as the ones in base model.
The general safety features that include collapsible steering wheel column, child safety locks, stop lamp and engine immobilizer are common with base variant. More safety in this model of Manza comes in the form of warning buzzers for driver’s door open with key-in, and for headlamps on and tail lights on. To add to the list of safety and comfort features, remote keyless entry and central locking facility has been provided.
Manza Safire 90 LX costs 6.15 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi). It gives a fuel efficiency of 10.5 kms/litre in the city and up to 13.7 kms/ litre on the highways.
