The 1368 cc 4 cylinder MPFI engine for Manza in the petrol category churns out a power of 90 PS @ 6000RPM and torque of 116 NM @ 4750 RPM. This car has been selling on account of its features that are not normally seen in sedans in sub 10 lakhs range. And if you too plan to buy the Manza essentially for the features, it makes sense to go for EX – the fully loaded version.
Let’s look into the styling, comfort and safety aspects in Manza Safire EX:
The first thing that comes to notice while comparing this variant to the others is that it has a ‘contrast roof’. Options such as silver on black or black on red and more are available and it adds a distinct style to this vehicle. This variant has also been adorned with chrome in many more places than its younger siblings. There is chrome on the hood strip, license plate, bottom weather strip, around the front fog lamps and the door and bumper rubrails.
The top end model comes with 15” alloy wheels instead of the normal steel ones. Adding to the sophistication of this car are the body coloured outdoor handles and the ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors) that can be electrically maneuvered. Furthermore, Manza Safire EX has a rear demister and a 7 speed front wiper. Along with the front fog lamps, you also get a pair at the rear.
The insides of this car seem pretty decent with fabric upholstery, and the interior colour combination being in black and plum shades. Lots of neat storage spaces have been given in the car such as on the front and rear doors, a storage tray under the co driver’s seat and a glove box with card holder and pen holder.
An illuminated ring around the key hole is a pleasant addition and so is the fact that there are separate cabin lights given for the front and rear sections of the cabin. The interior rear view mirror is also anti-glare- a huge advantage for night time driving. A power outlet and a sunvisor with an embedded vanity mirror often come handy. A tachometer is found on this one too as on the other variants of this segment.
There is an elaborate entertainment and information feature in the top end model. You get the 2 DIN music system with AM/FM/MP3/CD Playback & Audio Equaliser on touch screen. A satellite navigation facility has also been offered. With the Blue 5 Tech feature, you can connect your Bluetooth enabled phone with the car’s audio system to make and receive calls without taking your hands off the steering wheel – all audio control switches are there. Other features are identical to VX variant.
The information display unit has digital clock as in other models. It informs you about fuel consumption and distance to empty. To add to this, there is an ambient temperature indicator.
Tilt adjustable steering, two way adjustable lumbar support on the driver’s seat, adjustable front (and rear) headrests and a height adjustable driver’s seat - Tata Manza surely covers all areas to make it a comfortable ride for the driver. There are power windows in the car and the driver’s side window is a one shot power down window. There is a separate boot lamp as well.
The air conditioner has a heating function attached to it and it also comes with automatic climate control.
The Tata Manza EX variant comes with a lot of good things when it comes to the safety of its driver and passengers. On the outside, it has a high mounted LED stop lamp. On the inside, there is a collapsible steering, an immobilizer and dual front SRS airbags. The front seatbelts also have retractor, pretensioners and load limiters which help move the passenger in an optimum position, in the event of a crash.
The ABS (Anti lock brake system) with EBD (Electronic brake distribution) is certainly there in this vehicle as is a central locking system and a rear door child lock. There is an option for remote controlled keyless entry system and a warning buzzer goes off anytime the driver’s door is open with the key in/ headlamps or tail lamps on situation.
To sum up, this variant looks quite complete with the features that it displays and is overall a great variant to choose, from among all the options that the Tata Manza has to offer. It costs about Rs 7.53 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi).
