A sedan that has been loaded well by Tata, Manza Club Class comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The 1368 cc 4 cylinder petrol engine coupled with 5 speed manual transmission has power of 89 bhp and torque of 11.8 kgm. The Quadrajet 1248 cc diesel engine is more efficient with 89 bhp and torque of 20.4 kgm.
Let’s check out the features in Manza Quadrajet 90LX, the model next to base variant:
Manza is essentially the saloon version of Vista and designers at Tata have integrated the boot very well with its roof. The headlamps are bigger and there is some detailing with crease lines on bonnet and sides. Manza Quadrajet 90LX has its bumpers and door handles in body colour. Besides the standard external features common with the base variant, it gets fog lamps at the back and an external roof mounted antenna. Tata Manza comes in 5 colours that include Dew White, Jet Silver, Laser Red, Infinity Black and Tyrian White.
The look and feel of Manza’s cabin is noticeably superior to other Tata cars. The interior ambience is exclusive when compared to Vista and in Manza Quadrajet 90LX it has black & beige colour scheme. Large seats get fabric upholstery. Thanks to a wheelbase of 2520mm the cabin is quite spacious with sufficient legroom at the rear. Cubby holes have been sculpted in form of door pockets, bottle holder on front console and storage tray under the front passenger’s seat. There’s a card holder & pen holder in glove box too. All cabin elements are same as in the base model but the LX variant has anti glare rear view mirror for more convenience.
As a marked upgrade from the base variant, this one does get the entertainment and information system. It has 2 DIN music system with AM/FM/MP3/CD playback & audio equaliser. USB and Aux-in ports are also provided. Audio controls are steering wheel mounted and you also get an infra red remote for the system. With 2 speakers in front, two at back and a couple of tweeters, anyone in the cabin can enjoy music at its best. The information display apart from the digital clock is for fuel consumption and distance that can be travelled before refuelling.
The additional comfort feature in Manza Quadrajet’s LX model comes with power windows both at front and rear. Along with manual air conditioner & heater, it also has electric HVAC controls for maintaining optimised temperature in the cabin. All other elements for comfort and convenience are identical to the ones in base variant.
Alongside essential safety features – such as collapsible steering column, child locks and engine immobilizer- given in Manza Quadrajet LS, this model of Tata’s saloon gets safer and more upmarket with warning buzzers for driver’s door open with key still inside, headlamps left on, and tail lamps on. What’s more, it also has remote keyless entry and the convenience of central locking.
With a price tag of Rs 6.64 lakhs, Manza Quadrajet 90LX has few more features than the base variant. It may not be a very exciting car to drive but the spacious cabin and wonderful fuel efficiency are some strong selling points of this Tata saloon.
