Nissan Micra Active XL is next in line to the base variant XE. The fact that it is powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol engine as the Micra, but comes in a lower price segment makes the Active a good value for money proposition.
Let us check out the distinguishing aspects of this variant:
In terms of styling and external features, there is no difference between Nissan Micra XL and the base variant XE. It has body coloured bumpers but again there are no fog lamps. With blackened area around them, the headlamps add to the beauty of hood. The wheels again do not have full caps.
Complementing the exteriors is the smooth rounded theme of dashboard design. Unlike the base variant, Micra Active XL has a 12 V power outlet for your devices but again there is no music system in this one. The quality of upholstery and dashboard plastic is good. Interiors of this variant are akin to the Micra Active XE though there are some additional comfort features in this more pricey model.
Comfort and Convenience
Along with all the comfort elements of the XE, Micra Active XL comes loaded with many others. It has power windows in the front as also a central door locking facility. In addition to this, you enjoy a keyless entry to the car. There is no tachometer but you get the semi drive computer like the one used in XE. The headrests for rear seats of Active XL can be adjusted for comfort. Its cabin has assist grips. Outside rear view mirrors are also internally adjustable.
For safety, this model replicates the features of Active XE. So there is an engine immobilizer, and warning indicators for seat belt, low fuel level, headlight-on and key remove. But to supplement these, Nissan also gives you a speed sensing auto door lock in the XL variant.
The Japanese car maker has managed to create four variations for the Micra Active even with minor differences in product fabrication. The buyers can therefore decide as to which customised package meets their needs and budget the best. The XL is about Rs.55,000 more expensive than XE.
