New Dzire is a sub 4 meter car inspired from the successful Indigo CS from Tata Motors. Therefore it has a smaller boot than its previous avatar. In effect its more a notchback than a 3 box sedan. However, this chopping and cutting has made the Dzire more balanced with much lesser overhangs. Even with a smaller looking boot the boot space at 316 litres is quite decent. New Dzire being based on the Swift platform is longer than the model it has replaced. The 40 mm longer wheel base of Swift has helped the New Dzire to offer great space to the rear seat passengers.Easy to read dials, new and neat dashboard with faux wood, beige colour plastics and silver trimming on the steering has given a plush tactile feel to its interiors. Under the hood the K Series engine with VVT and tweaked Multi-jet engine has added lots of eagerness to the car. All in all Maruti seems to be getting paid for its guts of redesigning a popular, growing model by putting it under the scalpel and coming out with a winner.
