A-Star (short for Alto-Star) is an Indian version of Suzuki Alto. Suzuki Alto was first introduced in 1979 and is currently in its seventh generation. A-Star took to the Indian market in the year 2008. It was launched in India by Suzuki`s Indian subsidiary Maruti Suzuki. In many countries it is also known as Suzuki Celerio.

Initially the car was launched in three variants Lxi, Vxi and Zxi. Maruti Suzuki A-Star is powered by Maruti popular KB series of engine, it`s a 998 cc unit which can deliver a maximum power of 67 PS@6200 rpm at a peak torque of 90NM. It consists of lightweight aluminium construction and an all plastic engine manifold. It promises to offer an excellent mileage of 19 kmpl.
