Hyundai Verna Facelift

The newest version of Hyundai Verna was unveiled in 2016 in China where it is already on sale. Earlier, the concept of the model was also showcased at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2016. Hyundai has plans to launch updated iterations of its top selling cars in India too. It has introduced the Grand i10 in February 2017 and has compact sedan Xcent lined up for a launch too. The next to follow is this premium sedan segment candidate – the Verna. The current model had received a mild facelift in 2015 and it was time to bring something more contemporary now. Styling of the new car has not deviated much from its concept albeit the headlight clusters, grille, bumpers and wheels have been trimmed down on the production model. The new Verna looks more aggressive and premium with its latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design principles. The front look now is similar to Elantra. The two slat grille design has given way to a bigger hexagonal grille and the stretched back headlamps have also been touched for new appearance. The housing of the fog lamps now cuts into the air dam strip on the bumper. There are changes in the dimensions. The new Verna is 4380 mm long and 1728 mm wide. It is therefore 5 mm longer and 28 mm wider but with 1460 mm height it sits 15 mm lower than the current model. These increased dimensions will help to make the cabin more spacious. The slope of roof line for the sedan has been changed and it gets blackened C-pillars. Design for alloy wheels is also new.  It is at the rear that Verna 2017 gets its most interesting revised bits. Its tail lamps look sportier and there is a new integrated spoiler.  For its cabin Hyundai Verna has a neat layout which again seems to be inspired from its elder sibling Elantra. While the car launched in China has all black interiors, the Indi spec car may get dual-tone theme with beige.  There is plenty of equipment to please the customers. The highlight of the dashboard is a large touchscreen in the centre and it takes the audio, video and navigation features. Sources report that it will be a 5 inch screen for the mid and 7 inch screen for top spec variants. It will have Android auto and Apple CarPlay. There will be steering-mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth, climate control and a push-button start. Top trims may even get a sunroof. As for its engines, the new Verna is said to have the same 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre petrol and diesels as in the current range. These will be upgraded with Hyundai’s mil-hybrid technology that is quite alike Maruti’s SHVS system.  Although there is no official declaration, we expect the prices to be between Rs 9 lakh and 14 lakh. The rivals of Verna in India are Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid and Fiat Linea. We are eagerly waiting for this new version of Hyundai’s sedan and will give you a detailed review after the official test drive.

Fortuner Vs Endeavour full blown SUV Competing for Buyers Wallet. Real SUV for SUV lovers from Toyota and Ford. Endeavour and Fortuner comes in 4*2 and 4*4 drive train. Fortunately both have the muscle, looks and power under their hoods to take any terrain with ease. Whilst, on paper feature to feature and engine comparison seems to be tilting the balance in favour of the Endeavour, however, Toyota has enough fan following who will willingly ignore any marquee for a Toyota at any price. Lucky Toyota.
