Honda Jazz E MT Petrol Features & Specifications, ARAI Mileage and Price

The Honda Jazz,as a car, is unique since there is no apparent challenger in sight. Except for the Hyundai i20,which isn’t much since it is lower priced and a bit smaller but that one still counts as a premium hatchback and is doing well with the Elite refresh in recent times. Lets glance over the Honda Jazz, for now.

Specification

The E variant which comes at an asking price of Rs. 5.31 Lakhs (ex – showroom) is a very competitive variant of Honda Jazz. At this price (though it doesn’t offer that many features), it takes on both low end hatchback and premium hatchbacks, i.e, Maruti’s Wagon R, Ritz and Switft, Hyundai’s i10 and i20, and the list goes on.

The car has 1.2 Litre iVtec petrol engine with 4 cylinders. It pumps out a power of 88 BHP @ 6000 RPM and has a torque of 110 NM at 4400 RPM. The cylinder Engine has a maximum displacement of 1200 cc. The engine is mated to a 5 Speed Manual transmission. The gear box gives decent shifting qualities. The car has the following suspensions: with McPherson Strut at front and Torsion beam with Coil spring at rears. These are capable of providing one fine ride. The claimed mileage of the car is 14.4 for city roads and 18.4 on the highway. The ride quality is better than before with the same eagerness and punch of its predecessor. So far so much.

Exteriors & Interiors

Honda couldn’t do a better job than this in giving this car such a awe - inspiring look. It is highly likely that you’ll mistake this car Honda City especially while looking from the front. Being a hatchback the boot is not pulled out. Honda has also done a great job in giving it such an aerodynamic edge. The tail lamps make a great difference and impart novel and a jaw dropping look to the car. The chrome garnishing throughout the body makes it stand out the crowd. The car comes in 7 colours viz. Sunset Orange, Carmelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta White, Golden Brown Metallic and White Orchid Pearl.

The interiors are single toned beige and supports fabric upholstery with it. Being the base trim it lacks the high techie features such as the entertainment system not even the normal Radio with CD, AUX & USB but they are always available as add – ons and you could get a better deals on them as well (maybe). Coming to the Air conditioning, the HVAC provides a decent cooling and keeps the entire car chilled with the rear a/c vents. There are a couple of bottle holders and bins to fill up the extra room.

Safety

In terms of Safety, the base model doesn’t have much to offer. Aside from child protection and central locking an engine immobiliser, which should have covered basic safety five years ago but is inadequate now. But the car more than makes up in other departments, so it still is one of the better cars out there.
