Honda’s bigger hatchback Jazz when originally launched in India was not quite successful. The Japanese car maker learnt a lesson that right size and pricing of a car are very important to woo the buyers in this part of the world. And by bringing the Brio they did just the right thing!
This little hatch is 3610 mm in length, it has been priced judiciously, and its performance on roads has been delighting people.
Let’s look into the features that come with top end variant mated to manual gearbox: Brio VX MT:
Futuristic, practical and compact design of the Brio easily catches attention. The all glass hatch cuts down on weight (enhancing fuel efficiency) and of course on the cost. With cuts, slash lines on bonnet and sides, there is lot of detailing too. Top end variant VX MT does not differ from V MT with regards to external styling – ORVMs & door handles are in body colour, single slat front grille has chrome finish, it comes with mud guards, fog lamps & alloy wheels and there is an antenna on roof.
The cabin design for Brio VX MT is also a replica of V MT’s cabin with dual tone beige colour theme and sporty amber coloured illumination on the instrument panel. There is the integrated advanced music system with steering mounted control switches and 4 speakers. Touches of chrome and silver here and there add to aesthetic refinement.
The added comfort feature in this top of league model for Brio is tilt adjustment for the steering wheel. A vanity mirror has also been fitted on the driver’s side. Other attributes for comfort are same between this and V MT variant. These comprise features such as power windows, manual air conditioner/heater, electrically adjustable ORVMs, driver seat adjustment, and central locking facility among others.
This is where the big slice of product differentiation comes. Honda Brio VX MT gets SRS air bags for the driver and front passenger. There is an anti lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD). The front seat belts have pretensioner with load limiter. It’s because of extra features like these that Brio VX MT comes in the top end category.
Priced at Rs 5.36 lakhs, this version of Honda Brio is well loaded if you are looking for lots of features along with beautiful performance of the hatch. The fuel efficiency that you can get from this Honda car is between 12.6 to 18.4 kms/ litre.
