For a good share in the Indian hatchback market, Honda finally brought a car that has a bundle of qualities and is also priced right. The 1198 cc 4 cylinder petrol engine of Brio borrowed from Jazz, is peppy and behaves very well in slow moving city traffic – it is coupled with 5 speed manual transmission for 5 variants and with automatic transmission in one (top) variant.
Let’s see what the mid segment car S MT offers in terms of features:
The Brio is a good looking car from almost all angles and sports a futuristic, compact design. The design concept involves a double triangle form – the first triangle reflects in its aerodynamic shape and the second sporty triangle gives it a wide stance. Cuts and slash lines on the body make up for lot of detailing. The most original and attractive design feature is of course the all glass hatch.
The additional design features that Brio S MT gets along with basic elements also used in base variants are: mud flaps for front & rear and full trim wheels
Roomy interiors of Brio S MT have single tone beige colour theme. The feel of spaciousness inside the cabin is the result of large windscreen and rear glass as also the slim yet comfy seats. This variant has chrome on air vent rings and gear lever ring. You get an integrated ‘Honda advanced audio’ that does not have a CD player but comes with radio, MP3 as also USB and Aux ports. There are steering wheel mounted audio control switches and as a cosmetic upgrade, the steering wheel also has silver garnish. Speakers have been given at both front and back.
Honda Brio S MT gets a defogger for the rear glass and this is a significant improvement from the base variants. There is a driver seat height adjuster in this version of the car. Further, Honda gives the convenience of smart keyless entry for the model. All four windows are powered and there is power window auto down feature in the front. The outside rear view mirrors are electrically adjustable.
List of comfort elements in Brio S MT also includes accessory socket and rear parcel shelf. Along with these you get seat back pocket and vanity mirror on front passenger seat side. Remaining elements for comfort are same as in the E and EX MT variants.
The rear glass defogger serves as an extra safety feature in this upgraded model. Other elements for security are same as in base versions. These include engine immobilizer, a high mount stop lamp and the rear view mirror adjustable for day and night light reflections plus the driver seat belt reminder. You do get a full size spare tyre.
Honda Brio S MT carries a price tag of Rs 4.62 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi). With its light steering wheel, moving through congested lanes and even into tight parking places is a breeze. Overall, this hatch is a good value for money that you shell out for it.
