Honda Amaze is an entry level saloon with almost everything that sedan buyers expect from their car. What’s more, the company also kept the length at less than 4 metres to keep it in a price range unaffected by heavy excise duty.
The petrol variants of Amaze are powered by 1.2 litre 4 cylinder engine and among the 6 models, Honda also gives you two with automatic transmission.
Let’s consider the design and styling attributes used in top end Amaze VX MT:
This being the top of the league version is well loaded with features for refinement of design and functionalities. In addition to chrome plated front grille, body coloured bumpers, ORVMs, door handles and mud flaps that are also offered with mid segment S MT, this one has fog lamps in front for safer drive in misty weather. It also gets turn indicators on the ORVMs. The most significant addition however is the set of alloy wheels. These light weight wheels add to the fuel economy of your vehicle while also enhancing its aesthetics.
Cabin for VX MT is also more adorned than base and mid segment models’ interiors. There is a dual tone beige colour theme for fascia and seat fabric. Beige carpeting also looks nice but the light shade has a tendency to get dirty soon and can be tricky to clean. Silver touch on the internal door handles accentuates their look.
The windscreen in this variant is heat absorbing and so the efficiency of air conditioner is significantly enhanced. This is a valuable functional feature in this top end variant.
Thanks to inclusion of few more comfort and convenience attributes, feel of this version for Amaze gets little better. There is a defogger for the rear glass and the outside rear view mirrors are electrically adjustable and foldable. Climate control for air conditioner is still missing but with a heat absorbing windscreen, there is good cooling inside the cabin. Seat back pockets have been put behind both front passenger’s and driver’s seat in this variant. Also, there are two vanity mirrors with lids as against only one in mid segment model.
Anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution, engine immobilizer & WAVE key, high mount stop lamp, reminders for seat belt, headlights on & key-in – are some safety features common with Amaze S MT. However, being the top of the league model, VX MT gets more features in form of SRS air bags and seat belt pretensioners with load limiter for the two front seats.
Prices at Rs 6.70 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi), Honda Amaze VX MT i VTEC is a practical saloon with good cabin space and proper three box proportions. On fuel efficiency front it will give you 12.5 to 18 kms / litre.
