Chevrolet has always managed to delight its buyers with some practical and fairly good looking cars and yet another one that ushered out of its gates was the Chevrolet Sail U-VA. A hatchback, quite befitting Indian roads with its generous cabin space and a good fuel efficiency of around 17 kms/litre is quite a decent car overall.
Here’s a brief about the features of U-VA Diesel PS
The ‘PS’ being the base variant in the diesel league of this sporty looking hatchback obviously comes with lesser adornments but nonetheless enough. The front and rear bumpers are body coloured although the outside mirrors and door handles are not. The radiator front grille is chrome decked and the headlamps are prettily designed in a ‘Hawk wing’ style. The raised bonnet also looks good.
The spacious interiors come with a set of basic features. There is fabric upholstery done in dual tones of coffee- beige. Storage spaces have been given in the form of a high volume glove box, cup holders in the front console, front door map pockets and front seat back pockets. The plastic quality doesn’t feel that great, although they look pleasing to the eye. There is an amber coloured illumination fitted inside the car cabin that makes the ambience warm and soothing. This variant comes equipped with an air conditioner too.
The Chevrolet Sail U-VA has an array of essential comfort features such as front power windows and power adjustable outside mirrors. There is a three spoke power steering wheel that comes with tilt function. The headrests in the front are height adjustable too, thus adding to the comfort of the driver. A lamp in the luggage compartment has been provided and there is a 12 V power outlet too. There is a seating capacity of 5 people and a boot space of 248 litres in this car.
The biggest drawback that strikes one, while looking at this model is that it neither comes equipped with an ABS (Anti Lock Brake System) nor with air bags for the driver or the passenger. It does however come with dual horns and a high mounted stop lamp. Due safety for a child is ensured at the rear seat with a child protection door lock system. Driver seatbelt reminder light is there and it instantly starts blinking if the belt is not put on. This model’s safety is also enhanced by an engine immobilizer.
Priced at Rs 5.29 lakhs (Ex showroom price- Delhi), the Chevrolet Sail U-VA Diesel PS is an honest vehicle that although does not hold the first place in terms of drive and power like its competitors but still somehow manages to exude a sober performance.
