General Motors brought its Chevrolet Enjoy to the Indian MPV market in the summer of 2013. It is a compact and comfortable to ride in car with roomy interiors. Its 1248 cc diesel engine gives out a power of 76.44 bhp and torque of 19.1 kgm.
There are three 7 seater and one 8 seater variants for Enjoy TCDi. Let’s look into the styling and functional elements of mid segment variant: 1.3 TCDi LT 7:
With a front that looks like a sedan and monocoque structure, Chevrolet Enjoy fits well into the MPV segment. Along with the standard external features that are common with the base variant, Enjoy 1.3 TCDi LT 7 has body colour on door handles and outside rear view mirrors. The radiator front grille has touch of chrome. At the rear too there is a chrome strip above the license plate. Leaf shaped fog lamps have also been provided in the front.
The black and beige cabin of Enjoy TCDi LT has leatherite upholstery. Aesthetically, there is more refinement in this mid segment variant. That’s because along with the standard styling features common with Enjoy TCDi LS, this model has wooden finish on air conditioner vents, door armrests and gear knob. There is adequate leg room for passengers on rear and middle row seats and with separate AC vents at the back, the cooling inside the cabin is comfortably uniform.
With a set of additional features for comfort and convenience, this version of Enjoy diesel is lot more refined than the base model. To begin with, the driver’s seat is adjustable for height and the power steering is rake adjustable. There are reverse parking sensors and also a facility of remote keyless entry. What’s more, you can defog, wash and wipe the rear glass with the press of a button inside the cabin. A cigar lighter and ash tray has also been provided in this MUV. The third row has a 12 V power outlet for mobile charging. And yes, there is an integrated music system with CD player, MP3, radio, Aux input and USB socket. There are two front and two rear speakers.
All other comfort features are same as in base model.
Enjoy TCDi LT may not be fully loaded but it comes with few more safety features than what you get in the LS version. These are in the form of speed sensing door automatic locks and centre high mount stop lamp integrated rear spoiler. Along with driver seat belt reminder and door ajar reminder that are there on instrument panel of base variant, the LT model has key-in and headlamps on reminders.
Priced at Rs 7.49 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi), Enjoy 1.3 TCDi LT-7 also competes with Mahindra Xylo, Tata Winger apart from Maruti Ertiga. Since it has been recently launched, the actual success is yet to be seen.
