Among the four variants of Chevrolet Beat diesel, the model that comes on the top is the Beat 1.0 LT (O) – where ‘O’ stands for additional features. General Motors has cleverly worked on product differentiation to make this one the most exclusive in the diesel league. It has few more features than the 1.0 LT
Here’s an account of these additional elements:
Chevrolet Beat 1.0 LT sports features like body coloured ORVMs & door handles, satin silver roof rails and B pillar styling strip that are missing in the mid segment and base variant. But this more refined version the Beat 1.0 LT (O) also comes with a set of alloy wheels (as against steel wheels in other three). This is what makes the model superior to its less expensive alternatives.
The cabin of Beat 1.0 LT is well furbished with semi fabric design inserted seat covers, glossy silver finish on the instrument panel and doors, a digital clock on the dashboard and an integrated audio system. The only extra feature that the top end variant with options gets in the cabin is a set of air bags for driver and front passenger. This adds to the safety of the vehicle.
Once again, the range of comfort features is precisely the same as that in the other top variant – 1.0 LT. Therefore this includes power windows, driver seat height adjuster, rake adjustable steering wheel, air conditioning optimised by climate control, as also a rear glass wash-wipe and defogger.
As mentioned above, Beat 1.0 LT (O) is safer thanks to a set of air bags put in the car. And that is not all – it also has an anti lock braking system and the front seat belts come with load limiters.
So in a nut shell these extra safety features are the additional ‘options’ and you do get alloy wheels for this variant. These make it more refined.
Chevrolet Beat 1.0 LT (O) diesel costs Rs 5.98 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi) and if you prefer driving the fully loaded version of this small diesel hatch, this one is the best option.
