The elegant luxury saloon from the house of BMW, 7 series has a globally popular engine, forceful performance, plenty of interior space, loads of equipment, flawless build quality and a great image. After the latest facelift the car has also improved in its key areas and continues to offer excellent driving pleasure.

A length of 5212 mm with 1902mm wheelbase gives the 730Ld the appearance of a real plush and luxurious saloon. The chrome lined kidney grille is the BMW trademark and the stretched headlamps have xenon lights, daytime running lights and automatic light range control and washer system. The full-width air intake in the lower front fascia has been redone and now gets new fog lamps and chrome strips along its external sections. The 730Ld is the most luxurious BMW saloon and so it has to have a richly done cabin. A sharply chiselled layered dashboard which is subtly skewed towards the driver is smart and ergonomic. Chrome lined dials on the instrument panel have conveniently readable tachometer, tripmeter and odometer. It displays information for average fuel consumption and the distance to empty in well illuminated forms. The design of the instrument console, with the LCD panel that merges into the dials looks good. BMW infotainment set-up for this 7 series comprises navigation system, radio, 6 DVD changer, MP3, Aux, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. For rear passengers’ entertainment, there are 9.2 inch high resolution screens behind the front seats. Audio system controls mount the three spoke steering wheel.
For the chauffeur driven of course there is ample comfort in the new 730Ld. Besides more than adequate legroom for tall adults, the seats are heated, cooled and there are screens in front for in-car entertainment. There is a rear seat armrest with cup holders and separate climate controlled AC vents and controls at the back. Even the driver and the front passenger of this 7 series trim have a pleasing time in the cockpit. Both the front seats are electrically adjustable for height and lumbar support. The servotronic power steering can be flexibly set for a comfortable driving position. Other standard BMW comfort elements subsume keyless entry, central locking, cruise control, automatic headlamps, automatic wipers as also defogger & washer-wiper for rear glass, and acoustic + visual parking distance control.
There are 8 airbags in this well fabricated sedan and these include side airbags for driver and front passenger. Anti lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist is the standard fitment. Furthermore, there is dynamic stability control along with cornering brake control, dynamic traction control, 3 point seatbelts with load limiters for all seats and front pretensioners. The German automaker also offers adjustable head restraints and Active Protection to close windows and sunroof, tension seatbelts, and adjust the passenger seat if the possibility of a collision is detected. Comfort, noiseless cabin, responsive engine and gearbox – this 7 series model has a mix of different aspects and even though it is not essentially a driver’s car, those who can afford the opulence will love to be at the rear seat.
