Audi Q3 35 TDI quattro Premium Plus Features & Specifications, ARAI Mileage and Price

Sport Utility Vehicle segment is an important part of Audi’s luxury car line-up and the upward journey in this genre begins with the Q3. While there was a petrol version available earlier, diesel SUVs rule in India and so the three Q3 trims now include the diesel powered base S Edition (M/T), the 35 TDi Quattro Premium and the top end 35 TDi Quattro Premium +.

Here is a brief description of the features that style and strengthen the Q3 35 TDi Quattro Premium+

Exteriors

The Q3 appears more like crossover than a conventional SUV. In terms of styling it is similar to Q7.  Even if smaller and less imposing than is elder siblings Q5 and Q7, the handsome aesthetics of this Audi car make it smart and discrete. The lateral LED strips inside the headlamps provide a luminous sense of style. With its conventional design but thick chrome outline, the hexagonal grille sits impressively on the chin. Air intakes on the large front bumper are integrated with round fog lamps.

Roof spoilers with aluminium finish give this four by four SUV a sportier look. The design cues with crease lines on the door panels are characteristically Audi. The wing mirrors have side turn indicator LED strips. Body coloured side skirts also highlight fine aesthetics. Audi uses 17" alloy wheels with 10 spoke design for this car. At the back, double tipped diffusers look regal and triangular tails lamps tapering towards the centre of boot lid also give a smart profile to the Q3. The tail lamps have LEDs for this variant. There is a range of fascinating colours to choose for the body paint – (solid) Amalfi White, Brilliant Black; (metallic) Caribou Brown, Cobalt Blue, Glacier White, Ice Silver, Samoa Orange; (pearl effect) Phantom Black.

Interiors

Audi has never skimped on material quality when it comes to designing the cabin even for its entry level cars and the refinement level has only improved in the past few years. So it goes without saying that the Q3’s 35 TDi Quattro Premium+ cabin does impress with its fit and finish. The well balanced aesthetics and ergonomics illustrate the skills of Audi’s designers. The dashboard is set high and has a beautifully arched hood for the instrument panel. Brushed aluminium inlays on the door sills, centre console and the dash give a sporty tone to interior design. On the piano black centre console you see soft touch trim and brushed buttons. What’s more, in daylight, the features look pleasantly appealing with their original looks, but in dark ambient LED spotlights adds a more mesmerising glow to different parts of cabin. The music system is the same as in the Premium trim but comes with special Audi sound system. It is operated through the basic MMI 6.5 inch screen and a radio remote control is also provided.

Comfort Features

Audi Q3 35 TDi Quattro has automatic climate control and both the front seats are electrically adjustable for height and 4-way lumbar support. There’s 2-zone automatic climate control. ORVMs are also power adjustable and retractable. The features that come to the aid of driver in this Premium Plus version include cruise control, parking aid plus system (front, rear sensors and parking camera), hill start assist and electromechanical parking brake.

At the rear, though the seats seem pretty comfortable, tall passengers may find shortage of headroom due to sloping roofline. And there is space only for two adult passengers as the transmission tunnel bump cuts out the legroom for third occupant. The rear glass has defogger, wash and wipe.

A volume of 460 litres makes the boot practical for packing a large suitcase and 2 or 3 smaller bags. You can push down the rear seats to free more space for storage. Map pockets are provided on all doors and there are two glove boxes to store things like candies, keys and small bottles.

Safety Features

In addition to the safety features shared with the other two variants - 6 airbags, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, ESP, traction control – this top end trim also has tyre pressure monitoring. Central locking, child safety locks, first aid kit and warning triangle are other standard Audi safety elements. Central locking, anti theft alarm and engine immobiliser are provided for security.

The price tag for Q3 35 TDi Quattro Premium Plus variant reads Rs 36.80 lakhs (ex showroom price Delhi). As a compact, well-appointed, sharp looking vehicle with premium feel, this Audi does pull quite a few buyers in India.
