The MPV market in India is yet to reach its peak, which provides the new passenger vehicle manufacturers enough scope to create a niche for themselves. At the same time, new entrants in the field need to meet the high standards of quality and performance already established by their existing competitors over the years. This includes providing fuel efficient MPV’s that are sleek and beautifully designed besides providing a high level of comfort.
With compact MUV’s having becoming the new craze in the market, it is not surprising that an increasing number of vehicle manufacturers are churning out models of this type. The latest entrant in the foray is Ashok Leyland. It is second largest company for commercial vehicles which are manufactured red in India. With the launch of Ashok Leyland’s MPV Stile, the company is all set to make a mark in the passenger vehicle segment in India.
Stile is the second product to be launched in India by the Ashok Leyland-Nissan joint venture. The MPV is in fact just a re-modeled version of Nissan Evalia although it comes with a significantly lesser price tag. Stile is a contemporary MPV that will alter the dynamics of the Indian market with its style, space, and comfort level and fuel efficiency. The vehicle was first unveiled in the 2012 Delhi Automobile Expo while it was actually launched in the markets in Oct 2013.
Stile is a powerfully build vehicle that comes with an amazingly beautiful exterior look. The MPV is fitted with a simple front radiator grille having a thick chrome strip placed on top of the hood. The front of the vehicle also features large headlamp clusters fitted with high intensity halogen lamps and turn indicators on either side of the grille. The body colored bumper comes fitted with a large air dam which is accompanied by fog lights on both sides. The side profile presents dominant character lines along with body colored handles and rear view mirrors. The vehicle features sliding doors on both sides which make accessibility easy especially in tight spaces. The rear of the vehicle comes fitted with stylish rear lamp cluster with an inbuilt turn indicator. The rear windshield is also provided with a wiper for better visibility during the rainy season. The vehicle stands firmly on its large 14 inch wheels which come fitted with superior quality tubeless radial tyres. In addition, Stile offers an impressive ground clearance of nearly 180mm. Overall the look of the MPV is designed to make it add to its sense of style and elegance.
When it comes to the interiors, Stile is designed in a lavish and comfortable manner. The seating accommodation is wide and spacious and to ensure complete comfort for the passengers the seats are well cushioned with high quality upholstery, in addition to being capable of providing great lumbar support. In addition, the vehicle offers great storage space, in the form of a large glove compartment and multiple bottle and cup holders. The MPV has also been fitted with a multi information system featuring a couple of notification lights for driver assistance, which has been built into the center console of the dashboard. There is also a 12V power outlet to enable the passengers to charge their mobiles and other devices and gadgets. The superb air conditioning system provides efficient cooling through both front and rear AC vents. The steering comes fitted with electric power assistance for quick response and easy maneuverability. However, the vehicle comes with a big drawback of not having a company installed stereo system, although the MPV does have the provision for getting one installed.
Currently, Ashok Leyland is offering only the diesel powered models of Stile in three variants of LE, LS and LX, available in the five colors of white, silver, red, gray and black.
