Mercedes Benz S class is the luxurious car offered by the German car manufacturer, which has received a fair amount of welcome from car lovers from across the world. The car maker launched the Mercedes Benz S Class S 500 Launch Edition this January and arrives with a V8 engine with 4.7 liter petrol engine that is capable of generating a mammoth amount of power. Recently, Mercedes Benz has launched yet other variants in the same category which is popularly known as the Mercedes Benz S Class S350 CDI. This brand new trim arrives with a high powered v6 3 liter diesel engine that has the ability to deliver 258 bhp and a torque of a whopping 620 Nm. Though both these models look similar, S 350 CDI trim has a smaller wheelbase measuring 3035 mm when compared to the S500 Launch edition with 3165 mm. As discussed earlier, the German automaker has offered the Mercedes Benz S Class in two variants such as petrol and diesel. The petrol variant arrives with V8 engine with 4.7 liters along with a displacement capacity of 4663 cc. It is equipped with a direct fuel injection system with 8 cylinders and 32 valves. It is also bestowed with a bi turbo charging unit that powers the motor to offer an output of 453 bhp with an output of 5250 rpm to 5500 rpm and has a whopping torque of 700 Nm.
The diesel variant on the other hand, arrives with a 3.0 liter engine under its hood and is equipped with the latest direct fuel injection system with 6 cylinders and 24 valves that belts out a power of 1600 rpm to 2400 rpm and has a torque of 620 Nm. Both engines of these two variants are mated with a high end 7Gtronic auto transmission gear box that aids in distributing the torque to the back wheels. When speaking about the acceleration and pick up, the S500 L trim is very better, as it has the V8 petrol engine that makes the car to reach a top speed of 100 kmph in just 4.6 seconds.
