Volkswagen Vento Customer Review

Whilst, many who have owned a Volkswagen for some years, would not like to buy another Vento or a VW car, thanks to its high parts and service cost. Harsh, however, would not have any regrets buying another Vento just like his cousins, who have bought the new Vento after selling their previous one. Having said this, he still believes that new options availabe in Indian car market are worth exploring before repeating the Vento.

What I love about my car Volkswagen Vento Diesel

Overall it’s a comfortable, sturdy car with good heavy build structure.

Comfortable means it’s a smooth car to drive, pick-up is very fast.

It’s a heavy car, I have driven other cars which feel very halka. This is very heavy /strong car which is good for Indian roads which are very rough, this car drives smoothly over those rough roads too. I have driven it 170 Kmph speed, no twitches and its comfortable car to drive. I have gone for long drive to Jaipur to-&-fro on the same day, no tiredness at all.

Heavy car toh gadde wadde se aram se nikal jaati hai ( Being a heavy car this car goes over potholes quite smoothly). Suspension does not give away and keeps the car in control.

Legroom space is good in rear seat, good for my

It’s a stylish car. The design of this car will remain fresh for long.

It’s a Volkswagen Car. Before VW entry into Indian, one had a limited choice from Maruti, Hyundai and Honda in sedan segment. Once VW came with Vento a good sturdy carndina car buyers gotr a worthwhile option in sedan segment. Sturdy means that it drives Jam Ke ( planted) even on uneven road surfaces, unlike lighter Indian sedan in which I gets thrown around while driving over similar terrains.

When I say ‘Heavy Car’ I do not mean heavy as in terms of weight of the car, heavy means it sticks to the road unlike other car which at 120-130 Kmph starts shaking, nothing like that one feels inside a Vento.

Body heavy hai toh means that body does not dent easily and protects its passengers. You feel the heaviness or its strong build or solid body in comparison to other cars in which I get driven around, I found the car feels so light.

Just recently I drove, the Terrano in the morning and Amaze in the afternoon and was back to driving my car in the evening. I felt the pick-up my Vento was giving me was far better than the two cars I had driven during the day. It was even more than Terrano and Vento. On 2nd gear I felt Vento pick-ups so easily, whereas Amaze felt dead and Terrano was ok. I felt pick-up of my Vento at lower speed was the best. I believe Amaze steering was much lighter and easier to drive, may car’s steering was the heaviest.

Boot space is quite high.

Even at 1,20,000 Kms I have not done any clutch job, which speaks well for the car. Now I do feel the gear are a bit harder to slot these days, even the service advisor has advised me to change the clutch system.

What I do not like about my Volkswagen Vento

Service and parts cost are really high.

Suspension I feel is not upto the mark, I had to get suspension work done in just 3 and half years, It cost me around Rs.35000-40000.

Interiors need to be improved, do not feel as plush.

A Drivers car which is such a pleasure to drive.

Volkswagen needs to improve its interiors desperately.
