Value For Money
While looking for a practical small car for city, we also set high aesthetic expectations from our new car. A-star with its funky and distinctive styling won our hearts and we got delivery of this small and stylish machine in April, 2010. Car looks good and has been able to maintain its distinctive personality amid the bulk of other small hatchbacks on the road. Bubbly and round design makes the car unique to look at. Rear part of the car, almost flat, refuses to blend in and in the process has eaten away boot space that could have been accommodated by the car otherwise. Interiors are well laid out though the cabin is very cozy. Leg room as well as knee room is very much compromised and A-star falls severely short on the space aspect. In fact I am not at all happy with the compromise made on the functional aspect in order to give car a futuristic look. Had they adopted simpler design with more roominess, A-star would have come closer to a perfect preposition. On engine front, I am very much satisfied with the car. Engine works brilliantly and car has excellent pick up though switching on the AC will affect the performance on negative side. A mileage figure of 16-18 km/l has been consistently returned back by the car from the very outset and this is one of the strongest points of the car’s proposition. A-star handles good and small dimensions make the car very practical and easy to drive in city. Traffic congestions are not at all reason to worry about as A-star can sail through the smallest space available at your disposal. On the contrary ride quality is just about average. Special care needs to be taken while approaching the potholes and A-star. A-star is very good city car and competent performer on highways also. Overall I am very much satisfied with the ownership of the car. Maintenance cost is average and proper service is only aspect that car requires. Only grouse I have with the car is about the roominess aspect. Little more addition in the legroom would make A-Star a more complete family car.
