Honda City CVT Automatic - A Good City Car

Honda City CVT automatic, whilst it has all the bells and whilstles and the CVT does perform ably, but unfortunately only till one does not get aggressive and eager to overtake the other car at traffic signal. The CVT does not like hard throttle and shows its displeasure by an engine roar.

What I like in my Honda City CVT Automatic

True city car as manoeuvring within the city is so easy and delightful. Light to drive, in city traffic you can cut corners, turn around and park so easily. You don’t feel as if you are driving a big car, steering is very light.

Smooth drive, smooth pick-up, very smooth acceleration all thanks to CVT automatic. Smooth and silent engine they have in the New Honda City.

As with the new city they have increased the wheel base, therefore the legroom both in front and back is very good. Even 5 decent sized adults would comfortable inside the Honda City.

As I drive myself, Bluetooth hands free feature is very good. It helps me listening to music and its seems to be loaded with features. Examples are; Touch Auto AC,  dashboard design looks very upmarket, interiors overall pretty good for its segment.

When you drive long one does not feet tired thanks to very comfortable seating and ease of driving.

What I don't like about my Honda City CVT

I feel the AC of the car is not suitable for Delhi summer with all 5 passenger rear seat does not get enough cooling even with rear ac vents, which in any case drops the overall AC efficiency.

The car body seems to be light, whilst ABS and airbags are all there, one does not get the confidence of being safe inside the car as the car feel light particularly its door. The door seems feather touch as if ‘Kuch Dum Hi Nahi hai’

Whilst CVT is good, the engine and CVT does not responds to quick throttle input, and when you do so, the car engine starts making noise as if the computer that manges the CVT has gone awry. CVT is gooD for regular drive without being aggressive on the throttle.

Mileage is a problem and is on the lower side as its closest competiors offers much better mileag efigures.

On the potholes the suspension feel hard. When I brought uo this issue with Sales team at a dealership, it's hard becasue its a sporty car.  Even a Altis and Fiat car handles potholes well, one can feel the potholes in the City, its not comfortable.

Ground clearance has been improved but it needs some more improvement at least for Indian roads

Honda service has really gone from bad to worse, always out there to make more money out of me.

Fun to drive car. The smile on my father face after driving the City Automatic Vs his Grand i10 is so obvious that its hard to ignore.

Average and handling of rough roads is really a problem, long way to go in terms of required improvements.
