Tata Motors launches Hexa starting 11.99 Lakhs and sets the cats amongst the pigeons. Hexa could well carve a niche for itself amongst those looking for value for money 7 seater by settling for mid-variants of the Hexa, which are decently speced and priced between 13.5 to 15 lacs.

Many naysayer might reject the idea of a Tata car at premium price point, they could well be right in their assumption. The argument could be that, even Tiago's success is driven by the car being a great value proposition and in-line with Tata Motors DNA of big car at economical prices.

Hexa from Tata Motors comes with 6 variants which are priced at

XE - 11.49 Lacs

XM - 13.85 Lacs

XMA (Automatic) - Rs.15.05 Lacs

XT - Rs.16.20 Lacs

XTA (Automatic) - Rs.17.4 Lacs

XT 4*4 - Rs.17.49 Lacs

Hexa comes with 320 and 400 Varicor diesel engine. 320 D Varicor engine delivers 150 Ps power and Torque of 320 NM with 400 Varicor delivering 156 Ps power and 400 Nm Torque. The engines are mated to 5 speed manual  and 6 speed automatic. Market rumours are that the Hexa auto transmission box is sourced from Chevrolet. Hexa sure is feature loaded, some key ones are: Voice Controlled Naviagtion system, Cruise Control, Hill Hold Ascent and Descent, Auto AC with 10 Vents, Captain Seats in 2nd Row, 6 Airbags, Mode Changing Functionality, 8-Way Electrically Adjustable Driver Seat, Audio Video Rear Parking System, Auto Headlamps and Rain Sensing Vipers to name a few.

Hexa comes in 5 colours options, these are: Arizona Blue, Tungsten Silver, Pearl White, Platinum Silver and Sky Grey. With Hexa Tata Motors seems to have gone to great length to provide a premium tactile feel as in addition to great features, even the uoholstery is sourced from 'Benecke Kaliko' a company known for providing fabric for much more premium cars like; Audi, BMWs and Mercs.

One look at the Hexa and one cannot fail to get impressed by its size. We believe that its R19, 235/55 huge tyres give the Hexa an imposing well grounded stance.

Those who have test driven the car swear by the fact that Tata Motors finally seems to have got it right with the Hexa. Some of whom we at ecardlr.com had the opportunity of speaking to during the test drive feel that finally Innova Crysta would have a worthy competitor and might even rue that fact of pricing the Crysta the way they have done. Only time will tell.
