Mercedes unveiled all-new, 4th Generation A-class

Mercedes has unveiled its new 4th generation A-class that will soon go on sale globally. We get you more details. 


Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its fourth generation, all new A-class which now comes across as a more sophisticated offering, both from outside and inside. Not only the new A class is the most affordable offering of German luxury car maker across the globe but it also comes with company's all-new interface, MBUX.

Interestingly, both exteriors and interiors have been completely revamped which essentially means that new A-class is a lot edgier than the outgoing version. All the money has retained the overall greenhouse; the integration of sharp headlamps makes the nose of the new car so much stylish to look at. Overall the face is low slung and special mention has to be made about sporty bumper which houses large air vents flanking the new grill. The company has also enhanced the overall length as well as wheelbase of the car which is sure to liberate more cabin space for the comfort of the occupants.

The highlight inside the cabin which is now completely revamped is the high definition information display screens. Not only these offer a plethora of information but also support a range of functions including navigation and voice command. What's more, you also get wireless charging for your smartphone in addition to apple carplay and Android auto feature. Under the Hood, the company will be offering 1.4-litre and 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine capable of putting out 160bhp and 220 bhp of power. Mercedes will also offer an entry level diesel engine displacing 1.5-liter with the max power and max torque of 115 BHP and 260 NM respectively. All these Indian options will be mated to 7-speed automatic transmission. Globally, percentage will often you A series with both front wheel drive and all-wheel drive option; however, in India we will be getting only front wheel drive variant for the sale.
