Honda unveiled 2nd generation Amaze at Auto Expo

Honda revealed Amaze in all its glory at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo. We get you all the details here.

Honda Cars India limited has showcased second-generation Amaze at the ongoing 2018 Auto Expo. The visibly grown new Amaze looks more like the mid-size saloon rather than the Dzire rivalling compact sedan. Upfront the chunky chrome grill dominates the proceedings flanked by the shapely headlamps on either side. The chin has got its share of alterations too, with flowing fog lamps and air dam falling in symmetry with the overall design. In the profile, the coupe-like roofline flags the change from the current generation while the rear has also grown a bit in the stature.

Inside the cabin, the Honda has upped the ante with high-quality material and sleek design; both of these aspects are missing in the current generation Amaze. Designers have finally got the symmetry of cabin right and the Air-con and music controls are finally placed where they should ideally belong to.
Mechanically, the new Generation Amaze is built on the all-new platform which has resulted in considerably weigh reduction in petrol and diesel versions, a fact that is sure to propel the performance while aiding the fuel efficiency numbers. There is no official word on the engine and transmission choices and we believe that current 1.2-liter petrol and 1.5-liter diesel will be carried over from the current generation model.  Honda is expected to price the new image competitively and the new generation could have the starting price around Rs 5 lakh. On its arrival, the new generation Honda Amaze will be pitted against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Tata tigor, and Ford Figo Aspire among others.
