New Audi Q7 petrol has been launched in India at Rs 67.76 lakh (ex-showroom). The variant is powered by the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine mated to 8-speed automatic transmission.

Stepping up the launch momentum, Audi India has introduced petrol version of its popular 7-seater Q7 in India at a starting price of Rs 67.76 lakh for the base 40 TFSI variant. The top of the line variant can be had at Rs 74.43 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom Delhi). Just so you know, the Q7 is the flagship SUV of the Audi and is popular among the Bollywood stars, politicians, and top echelons of the corporate world.

The most relevant change has happened under the hood where the car is powered by 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine capable of putting out 260 PS and 370 Nm of max power and max torque respectively. Channelising this power to all the four wheels is 8-speed automatic transmission which offers smooth gear shift and even contributes to the fuel efficiency. In terms of features and equipment, the petrol powered Q7 is similar to its diesel cousin and it includes the features Audi parking system with surround camera, panoramic sunroof, and a large 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system.

Inside the cabin, Q7 is equipped with 4-zone climate control air conditioner, leather upholstery, Bose 3D surround sound system, panoramic glass sunroof, electrically folding third seat, all around parking assist, and very desirable Audi’s virtual cockpit system. With this new launch, Q7 petrol is pitted against the likes of BMW X5, Mercedes GLE 400, Jeep Grand Cherokee petrol, and Land Rover Discovery. Audi is hoping to bring a chunk of buyers now biased towards the petrol power especially in the wake of heightened environmental scrutiny though high rates of GST has come as damper for all the premium auto makers.
