2018 Mahindra XUV5OO launch on April 18

Indian auto major Mahindra and Mahindra is all set to launch its updated XUV 500 in Indian market on April 18. The facelift version of this SUV welcome with cosmetic changes both outside and inside and company is also going to give a new diesel engine along with the petrol variant for the first time in the XUV range. This means that the updated version of XUV 500 will not only comes with the aesthetic changes but also underpin a new powertrain mechanism that is going to make its impact on the prospective buyers.

On the outside, the changes appeared in the form of a new grill, projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, a new front bumper with reimagined fog lamp housing and sleek air dam for the aggressive look up front. The profile of the remains unchanged except for the newly designed alloy wheels all the company has made considerable changes in the real profile of the car with the addition of new tailgate and redesigned tail lamps. 

Inside the cabin, the major alteration comes in the form of upgraded touchscreen infotainment system which takes pride of the place at the centre of the dashboard. There will be new dark brown leather upholstery and we expect the Mahindra to come up with better finishing job this time. The seats are expected to be spacious and comfortable. 

Under the Hood, the top version of the New XUV 500 will feature a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel engine which will be putting out a maximum power of 157 PS along with along with 360 Newton metre of max torque. The lower versions of the car will get the 140 PS and 330 Nm output. For the petrol lovers, the 2.2-liter petrol engine will be generating 140 PS along with 320 Nm. Both of these Indians will be coupled with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. In the Indian market, the updated version of XUV 5oo will take on the likes of Tata Safari Storme, Tata Hexa, Hyundai Creta, and Jeep compass among others.
