It provides rapid replacement in the event of damage during a race. The nose cone is also the main safety component in Formula One as nose cones have to compulsorily clear an actual crash test. Aforementioned, the term nose cone is used to refer to the front most section of a car, aircraft, rocket or a guided missile. The nose cone is so shaped that it can offer minimum aerodynamic drag. Nose cones are also designed to travel in and under water and also for high speed land vehicles (race cars). Taking the problem of the aerodynamic design of the nose cone section of any vehicle or body in to account, it is meant to travel through a compressible fluid medium (such as a race car, aircraft or rocket, bullet or missile), a major problem comes in determining the geometrical shape of nose cone for an efficient performance. In many applications, tasks like this requires the definition of a solid of round shape which experiences minimum drag in case of rapid motion through mediums like fluid (air) that are composed of elastic particles.
