Anti – theft systems’ alarm works with the help of sensors installed all over and across the vehicle. These sensors are activated on impact or movements inside the car or even the change in vehicle’s position can alert tilt sensor. Car alarms can either be factory fitted (OEM) or installed in after market. OEMs are usually having Remote Keyless entry system which can be used to Lock/ Unlock doors and even start the system. Remote Keyless Alarm systems work on radio receiver, immobilizer, motion detector and wireless USB. Such system operations rely on strong cryptography authentication methods.
In case of vehicle theft, the best avoid to avoid the theft is the installation of vehicle engine’s immobilizer. Many vehicles come with pre – installed immobilizer units and can afford protection through the ignition system. OEM immobilizers function through ECM/ PCM (computers) installed under the hood of the vehicle. Simply, the RFID tag attached to the key must be read by ECM in order to allow ignition to occur. Unfortunately, well – organized crime and easily bypass such systems and there’s nothing you can do to save your vehicle.
