May 01 2015 Toyota has launched Camry hybrid in India at starting price of Rs 28.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Available in two variants: Petrol and Hybrid, new Camry features Toyota’s new design language which feels dynamic and contemporary. We have already witnessed company’s changing styling approach on facelift Corolla and now with new Camry, Toyota has made it clear that its vehicles won’t be smeared bland and unanimated any more. Principal attractor in new Camry is its hybrid avatar that comes with additional arrangement of electric motor to save on fuel consumption. There has not been any change in petrol motor as older 2.5-litre gasoline engine from older Camry has been retained in new model. In hybrid version, however, this petrol motor is augmented by power and torque of electric motor that makes hybrid model far more powerful than its petrol counterpart. On outside, new Camry feels sharper and dynamic than its predecessor thanks to aggressive nose and elegant tail. Inside the cabin, there has been plethora of features ranging from ventilated seats to 3-zone climate control; air purifier to collapsible headrests etc. Space at back bench is phenomenal too and with additional convenience of sliding bench, chauffer driven will sure to feel bliss at back bench.
