Maruti has updated its best-selling Swift hatchback 29 Oct 2014. that now comes with enhanced fuel-efficiency and added dose of styling. The big talking point of new Swift is their mileage credentials that are up by 10% in diesel variant and 9.67% in petrol model. Although the cubic capacity of engines has not been tinkered with Maruti has derived these figures by retuning the engines and reining in on the frictional looses that are responsible for decreased mileage aspect. As a result of these efforts new diesel Swift now delivers 25.2 km/l while petrol offering 20.4 km to a litre. In addition to mileage enhancement new Swift features a new distinctive front grille and bumper, alloy wheels, electrically operated ORVMs’ and rear parking sensors. Cabin too has got its share of alterations in form of new upholstery, steering mounted Bluetooth/audio controls, and 60:40 split rear bench. Maruti has not messed up with Swift’s design that is in fact a very good strategic move. Swift racy styling and athletic pretensions are some of its key assets that are instrumental in making this car a best-selling hatchback. The overall silhouette looks and feels very familiar with carried over design and styling DNA makes new Swift nothing but Swift.
There was a time when we used to think of a sedan and the first thing which used to come in our mind was a heavy investment starting from INR 10 Lakhs, isn’t it? Well, Maruti Swift Dzire has changed this notion forever. With the launch of Maruti’s upgraded version of Dzire, which has some impressive features in its kitty like the revamped power, great speed and cool mileage. Sedans are usually considered as luxury cars and to buy one, it requires a good cash in bank. However, the product of Maruti, which is an efficient car has changed the trends. Maruti’s amazing product Dzire comes in petrol engine and it is perfect for 86bhp and 114Nm. Maruti is one of the automobile giant in the Indian sub-continent and its cars are loved a lot by Indians. Maruti Swift Dzire is a peppy car to drive on and it has some cool features which will make you wonder about the price of the car.
We live in a country where we have to manage our driving skills in the first gear and second gear because of the traffic and roads of our cities. This great product from Maruti, Swift Dzire has a great auto box and just like the older siblings of this car SX4 AT, Maruti Dzire is also available in L, 2 and D modes. Well, if you compare the car with its contemporaries, it will sound little out of fashion as far as technology is concerned. If you want to gear it up and then down, the car is not swift at it. For those who love to run the car like a monster, overtaking in the Maruti Swift Dzire will be a disappointment. As it required a proper plan up, if you want to overtake. The car has a switch which has overdrive lock and it helps in stopping the car while you are trying to shift it to the top gear while you are the gear on the level three. It happens even if the driver is pressing the floor with the spin up to 6000 rotations per minute. While driving in a city while using the manual transmission, this car will return to 8.5 kilometers per liter and on a highway the mileage is expected to be 13 kilometers per liter which means with a tank full of fuel, you can cover around 500 kilometers in this car. Not very impressive, but for those who are looking for a sedan to drive in a highway in a controlled speed and safe way, Suzuki Dzire car from the house of Maruti can be a nice pick.
The features of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are impressive to an extent but it seems like even Maruti was rattled while creating it. The features which are lacking in the car are the climate control system, the adjustment of the height of the seats, and the feature which the car missed the most is the audio controls mounted on the steering. The features which you can enjoy in the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are include an integrated Compact Disc player which comes with an AUX and USB, which means you can enjoy music from your USB drive or even your USB supported phone. The AT of the car is specked similarly as the other cars of Maruti Suzuki like VXi/VDi trim, just the ABS of the car comes in a standard style.
The dash board of the car has all the basic features and the quality of the plastic used is also fine like all the other Maruti cars. Front seat is quite comfortable and it gives ample space to the driver to adjust the seat according to his or her height. If you are a car lover who wants a heavy engine car with monster speed and classic features, you will be little disappointed but if you are looking for an average car which can give you some of the cool features without making a big hole in your pocket, the product from Maruti, the Suzuki Dzire is a win. It is a safe car for those who want to drive an easy car which can be good on mileage and nice to pocket. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has just joined the bandwagon of the pocket friendly sedans with its Maruti Suzuki Dzire and it will cost you approximately INR 7.51 Lakh (at least on the roads of Mumbai).
Maruti launched Swift in May of 2005. Swift was Maruti`s first endeavour into premium hatch back cars, a segment which was seeing ever increasing interest by cars buyers in India. Swift had a block buster launch, the response to the contemporary car which was bold and yet sporty was similar to the euphoria Maruti experienced in September 2000 when they launched the Alto for the first time.
Most Maruti cars have had rough beginning, the most widely published one being teh WagonR, which in the year 2000 was being dubbed as Maruti`s biggest failure, all thanks to its tall boy boxy design, which when compared to that era`s successful Santro was nothing short of an ugly duckling. Swift fortunately for Maruti became the darling of Indian car buyers almost immediately except for some initial hiccups from India`s largest market - Delhi NCR. Swift epitomises Maruti`s DNA of delivering traditional values like; Fuel efficiency, reliability and performance and yet creating a new design philosophy of contemporary looks, attitude, road presence, bold and sporty. No wonder experts world over lapped it up and declared it as a `Car of the Year` in 11 countries world-wide.
Swift from Maruti was to some extent creating a new A2 segment (Cars with length between 3401 mm to 4000 mm) or Premium Hatchback segment in the Indian car market. Swift design is an inspiration from bikes and motorsports. A fact that is obvious in Swifts external styling, interiors and driving dynamics, no wonder Swift is known for its driving pleasure and class leading ride quality. Swift has only gone from strength to strength, it`s popularity got the first booster dose when it got the 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine plonked under its hood in Jan 2007. Swift went under the knife once again and came back with flying colours on 17th August 2011. The New 2011 Swift was built on a new platform that gave the Swift a longer wheelbase therefore some additional cabin space and some extra width which added some more shoulder room.
Swift reached the milestone of 1 Lakh cars in just 21 months since its launch, reached 2 lakh cars sales in 34 months post its 2005 launch and finally 3 Lakh cars sales figures in 45 months after its launch. Recent figures of close to 17000 + units per months is testimony to the fact Swift`s magic isn`t wearing off at all, to the contrary its popularity is only gaining strength month on month.
So what`s the reason for such performance in terms of its sales figures? We at ecardlr believe it`s got to do with its great ride quality, Maruti`s Heritage and non-aging looks, not to forget top-end features like; Automatic AC, top-of-the line music system, class leading safety features like airbags, ABS, EBD, Fogs, its looks enhanced by its tall stance great body lines and designer alloys. It appeals to those looking for a premium hatchback which is feature loaded, as spacious as a sedan, has decent road presence and is not seen as a compromise purchase. Being from Maruti, its easy on pocket in terms of its maintenance cost and class leading fuel efficiency of 21 KMPL for diesel and 15 KMPL for petrol also ensures lesser trip to fuel pumps and lower dent to one`s pocket.
