When it comes to buying cars, Maruti Suzuki is the most liked company in the Indian Subcontinent. Be it luxury cars, SUV’s, utility cars or economic cars, Maruti has always proved itself as a best seller and it has added another feather in its cap with the Maruti Eeco which is a nice car for a family with up to seven members. The seven seater car is tagged at INR 3.42 lakh and the one with a capacity of five people is tagged at INR 3.09 Lakhs, and it is indeed great news. With the Maruti Eeco car, the gigantic automobile company, Maruti has once again proved that the company cares for the middle class section of the society. The car offers decent comfort and it is a cool car which is economical too.
The dashboard of the car is impressive and it resembles to Maruti Suzuki Alto’s dashboard. Apart from that, the glove box of the car has a big scoop and you can store your stuff well. The air condition vent of the car also looks like Alto. Other features which are similar to Alto include, the steering wheel and the gear lever also give the Alto feel. The quality of plastic used in making this car is also good. The front seats are comfortable and there is ample room for the driver to adjust the seats according to the space the drivers will need. The features of the cars are not innovative and as far as the style is concern, if you have a good memory and you remember the Bachchans endorsing this car, it is quite a look alike of Maruti Versa imbibed with 1.3-litre engine of the G-series. Although the car comes with 1.2 liter engine which will take it to a new dimension of 73bhp, but its engine has emission norms matching up to the new BS IV. So, if you see the looks and the features, it is a decent car which resembles a lot with Alto and Verna.
If you look the car at first it appears just like Versa with some up gradations and some revamped looks from exterior. The head light and the tail light of the Eeco car have some minor up gradations and the bumpers are also cool to look at. The boxy design of Maruti Eeco reflects the design of 1980s and it also resembles the Japanese version of a van. The skinny 155-section tyres of the Maruti Eeco car have 13-inch rims which makes the car tyre appear different from the other cars available in the contemporary market. If you ignore the looks of the car, Maruti Eeco is a smart pick as it is a practical car which comes in a pocket friendly price. The seats of the car are at a good height which offers great view from the front and sides. The glass area of the car is also huge and because of this reason the car gives a feel of a spacious cabin. Since the size of the car is compact, it gives a good experience on road as you can easily run it around even if there is a great traffic. No doubts the rear bench of the car is uncomfortable but if you see the space inside the car, it is far better than the other cars which are available in the similar price range. Although the head rests of the rear seats are missing and it is quite surprising that Maruti missed it.
If you will compare Maruti Eeco with the contemporary cars, there are chances that you will be disappointed, but looking at the price it seems quiet fair. The comforts offered by the car are also fine and there are some features like power windows, power steering, and central locking which are not in the car. The power delivery of the Maruti Eeco car is fine but it will not meet the standards of the other monster engine cars. The gear box of the car is compact and it gives good shifts and the ratio of short throws and shifts is fairly good. The clutch is light and it will make your driving experience a great win.
This car is indeed a cheap fix for those who want to buy a decent car which is safe and easy to drive on highways as well as roads jammed with traffic. This car is easy to park and the size makes it comfortable to drive as well.
