25 Sep 2014 Mahindra has launched second generation of Scorpio in market priced up to Rs 13.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Company has been testing the Scorpio mule for a long time and has finally launched the upgraded edition of this more than a decade old SUV in market today. New Scorpio is built on neo ladder frame chassis that Mahindra has developed keeping in mind the heightened challenges on dynamics front. Exterior of new Scorpio shares little resemblance to its outgoing model as newer one looks more classy and rugged in comparison to older model. Headlamps as well as tail lamps are new and so are the bonnet, fender and bumpers. In fact except the doors and roof every panel used in new Scorpio is indeed new. Interiors are even more revamped and bears absolute new looks. Colour, quality and especially fit and finish has gone up that makes this new Scorpio a modern and up market SUV. Further the top of the line Scorpio model S10 is fully loaded and equipment list is quite long. In addition to modern 6” touchscreen infotainment system with inbuilt navigation system and Bluetooth, on offer is automatic climate control, reverse parking aid, electric OVRMs’, automatic headlamps and wipers. Safety of new Scorpio is in the able hands of dual front airbags, ABS and digital immobilizer. Engine options remain similar to what older Scorpio came with though there is all new 5-speed transmission that is claimed to offer more refined and precise shifting experience. With whole new level of improvement new Scorpio has become far better than its predecessor and ready to script rest of the story from where its ancestors’ left.
