It's time to cheer. Post petrol price decontrol some years back, fuel prices in India were still not aligning themselves with crude price movement internationally. However, this time it seems to be happening. The drop unfortunately is not in line with International crude price fall from a peak of $ 115/barrel to current much under $100/barrel price, all thanks to the falling rupee.
Starting 29th June 2012 petrol prices have come down by Rs.2.46/Ltr in Delhi, this is the third drop in fuel prices in Delhi, since it was taken up by Rs.7.50/ltr on 24th May 2012. The total drop in last 35 odd days now works out to Rs.5/ltrs since its hike last month. Rest of the country gets Rs.3 /ltrs price drop today.
