Nissan Evalia Launch Price - Delhi

It’s the season for compact SUV's, MPV's and MUV or should we say LUV. People movers are now trying to garner volumes from sedans, by offering sedan like driveability and size with lot more space. Evalia from Nissan is one more offering in this space from a car manufacturer trying to increase its volume share in a growing car market. Nissan would surely hope and try to repeat its Sunny success through Evalia.

Nissan Evalia has been launched in 4 variants, ex-showroom Delhi price for them is as given below:

Variant                                                 Price (Rs.Lacs)

XE                                                          8.49

XE+                                                        8.92

XL                                                           9.49

XV                                                          9.99

With a starting price of Rs.8.49 lacs for Evalia, Nissan it seems to have erred on pricing front, a fact they managed so well with the Sunny. We believe, the Evalia might face resistance on two counts, first being the price as there are other far better options in its price range and second being its similarity in terms of looks to the Maruti EECO, which is a far cheaper car. Hope Nissan have done their homework.

As it’s a known fact that both Nissan and Renault share platforms and engines, which is also true for Evalia have the K9K diesel under its hood, Evalia pricing could also be driven its sibling Duster pricing, which having come in early would have set a price benchmark. This time the shoe seems to be hurting the Evalia, as on earlier two occasions, it was the Renault Pulse and Scala which had to distance themselves through pricing from Nissan’s Micra and  Sunny.

Whilst it’s still early but we at ecardlr believe that Evalia may not be able to repeat the Sunny Success. Hope we are, very, very wrong.

Fortunately both have the muscle, looks and power under their hoods to take any terrain with ease. Whilst, on paper feature to feature and engine comparison seems to be tilting the balance in favour of the Endeavour, however, Toyota has enough fan following who will willingly ignore any marquee for a Toyota at any price. Lucky Toyota.
