New car launch line-up in 2013

2013 is not going to be big year in terms of new car launches, whilst many car manufacturers are planning facelifts of existing models, absolute new cars are going to be few and far between. 2013 and 2104 could well belong to Ford and Honda.

Ford is expected to launch the All New Ecosport anywhere between 4th Week Jan to 2nd Week March 2013. Ecosport is a sub 4000 mm compact SUV, which will compete directly with Duster and indirectly with Ertiga, Evalia and Quanto. Ford is banking on this new car a lot and basis current buzz on the car, we expect a bumper 1st week like any other Bollywood block buster.

Honda is finally getting the Amaze (name could change just before the launch). Amaze is Brio's sub 4000 mm version with under 1.5 litre diesel engine. It will also come with a 1.2 litre petrol engine. Honda is also planning to launch the New CRV in 2013. In addition to these 2 cars, expect a City diesel around late 3rd quarter

Chevrolet will launch the Enjoy in 2nd week of Jan 2013. This MPV will sure fight for its market share from the likes of Ertiga, Quanto and Evalia.

Skoda is planning to launch the New Octavia in 2013.

Whilst there are rumours of a new i10 and a diesel i10, information available with is to the contrary. However, if new i10 does happen in 2013, then the expected launch date could be April 2013 and diesel i10 around last qtr 2013. We are actually expecting a New car from Hyundai between i10 and i20. This car however, should be launched early 2014.

Facelifts of WagonR and Ritz from Maruti are also expected in 2013.

Toyota has already announced of not launching a new car for next 3 years.
