Ford Freestyle Crosshatch: Which variant to buy?

Ford India has launched Freestyle crosshatch in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 5.09 lakh for the base petrol variant while top-of-the-line diesel retails at Rs 7.89 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Ford Freestyle is available in a total of 4 variants - Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium +. It may be confusing for a lot of buyers which variant they should go for and this is exactly what we're going to tell you in this piece of information.

Petrol or diesel: Fuel Dilemma

The choice between petrol and diesel must be driven by the logic of distance travelled per day rather than solely looking at the mileage figures. If you travel less than 80km daily, then the Ford Freestyle petrol makes more sense and its lower retail and maintenance cost further makes it easy on the pocket. Diesel, on the other hand, suits for long daily grinds, most of which should witness travel on the highways or inter-city commute.

Ambiente Variant: Value for Money

At a starting price of just Rs 5.08 lakh, the base Ambiente Variant of Ford Freestyle is the real value for money. Buyers get the safety package, i.e., Dual front airbags, ABS, and EBD along with reverse parking sensors, rear fog lamps, 15” tires, and remote key as a standard part of the equipment, making this Ambiente variant delivering maximum bang for your buck.

Trend variant: Jack of all trades

One rank above the base Ambiente variant is the trend trim level in Ford Freestyle range which offers the additional features like 6.5" touchscreen infotainment system with embedded navigation, front and rear fog lamps, Bluetooth connectivity, steering mounted audio controls, reverse camera parking system, and the tachometer. The variant is priced Rs 90,000 dearer to the base Ambiente variant.

Titanium variant: Our Recommendation

Add Rs 40,000 more and you can buy the Ford Freestyle Titanium variant which is generously loaded in terms of feature and equipment. We recommend you to go for the Titanium variant rather than the Trend as the former comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, cabin trims, and more importantly the added safety features like traction control system, electronic stability program, and Hill-assist control. Further, Ford has also stuffed in the automatic climate control, push-button start-stop system, and electrically foldable outside rear view mirrors as a part of the total package.

Titanium + variant: Fully-loaded one

For the people looking for all the bells and whistles, Ford Freestyle Titanium + is the one to go for. In addition to all the features mentioned above, this variant adds the convenience of side and curtain airbags, apple Carplay and Android auto, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, and electrochromic internal rear view mirror. All these features can be had at an addition of Rs 55,000 over the Titanium variant.
